NCE Future of Roads & Rail 2022
Welcome to NCE’s Future of Rail and Future of the Road conferences, which delighted have returned to physical events this year after two years of virtual versions due to the pandemic. Bringing the two conferences together with a common exhibition space will create a great opportunity for networking and cross pollination of ideas between the road and rail industry.
As well as considering the changes the pandemic is brought on the transport sector, we will be looking back over the last 50 years and head for the next 50 years as part of NCE’s 50th anniversary celebrations this year. Our keynote sessions to celebrate NCE’s golden anniversary aim to give you insight into how the sector has changed and set the scene of the challenges ahead as we deliver on carbon net zero and beyond.
However, there are many challenges to address in the immediate future of both the roads and rail sector. Within our Future of Rail programme we will be looking at what changes Control Period 7, which starts in 2024, and Great British Railways will bring to the industry. For The future of Roads, the impact of growing environmental concern will be considered as the industry plans for the start of the third Road Investment Strategy which is set to start in 2025.
I do hope you enjoy the lookahead to the changing strategies in the industry, as well as the case studies we have lined up to demonstrate the innovative application of ideas and best practice already been put into action on our networks.
The virtual platform we have selected for these events aims to improve your networking opportunities at the physical event. Please take the time to set up your profile on the Swapcard platform in order to get the best experience of these events beyond the conference programmes and ensure you make the connections you need.
The platform uses artificial intelligence and the details you enter to match you with others attending the event that you might be interested to meet but you are also able to interact with our sponsors and arrange private one-to-one meetings.
If you have any feedback about the events and ideas of what you would like to see at future events, please do get in touch.
